Hey Gang -
It’s been a little while since I posted, I’ve been busy with work and have found it difficult to find time to post. Here’s a quick snapshot of how I fared during the first quarter of 2013 (Jan 1 to Mar 31).
Observations… My goal for Q1 was to cash in 40% of the tournaments that I played in… I played in 13 tournaments, and I cashed in 4 of them. My calculator spits out that this is a 30.1% cash rate (just missed it)… I spent 47+ hours during the first three months of the year and made $91.00 that’s a whopping $1.93 per hour. I’d make more flipping Whoppers, but I’m having a lot more fun being a student of the game. But at least it was positive and not negative.
Honestly I think that I could have won more, on two occasions I made very generous final table chop offers with a gigantic stack against some very small stack contenders. So perhaps that’s another leak that I should seek to fix? On my two other occasions though I feel that karma came back and revisited as I was a medium/small stack and was included in a chop. So I feel what goes around comes around.
My Goal for the second quarter is to maximize winnings by continuing to focus on cashing, but aiming for first, second or third place money, and not just squeaking in. What are your thoughts, critiques, suggestions?
